I promise it’ll take just 20 minutes and you can do it with a glass of wine

The Lazy Person’s Weekly Review

I used to spend 3 hours on a Sunday doing my weekly review like the diligent GTD girl that I am.

I HATED IT. And I skipped most weeks.

Now I take 20 minutes on a Friday afternoon doing what I’ve termed ‘The Lazy Person’s Wrap-Up.’ If you struggle with the GTD Weekly Review or you just want a quick way to plan your week ahead, you might like it.

Plus, you’ll get to take back your weekends! Here’s how it works.

Don’t Let Things Pile Up

All day, every day I’m capturing ideas, notes & tasks. When I Think of something I’ll jot it down straight away. I use tags to quickly categorise things I need to deal with later which I wrote about here.

Most afternoons I’ll do a quick sweep and get everything into its right place. Any tasks that have come up that day I’ll get them into their projects. Any ideas or notes I know are safe and sound for when I need them.

My rule is to not leave things too long before dealing with them. Otherwise, it becomes too overwhelming and we give up. This is why the weekly review didn’t work for me. Too many things had piled up by then.
