The Only Way To Get Started As A Creator In 2022

Want to be a creator in 2022? Don’t start a blog.

This time last year I decided I wanted to start a blog. I wrote a few posts, I even joined a 28 blogging challenge and managed to write 14 blogs.

Then I wrote nothing for 3 months.

My creator career was quickly going the way all my previous ones had, to the cemetery of broken creator dreams.

But then I started to see these image essays on Twitter. They made me stop in my feed. They were interesting, colourful & I found some of my favourite people by reading those first essays.

I was hooked and that’s the story of how I joined ship30for30.

Since then I’ve written over 200 of those same colourful essays. And I’m convinced that the atomic essay is the best way to get started as a creator in 2022. Here’s why:

A Go-To Writing Practice. Atomic essays have become my go to daily writing practice. 250 words is small enough that they are ideal for a daily practice.

Collect Datapoints Fast. Instead of a few blogs, I have over 200 essays that I have data points for on what my audience likes & dislikes to read from me.

They compound. The first 30 was a slog. The next 100 seemed to take forever. But 200 just flew by. And imagine having hundreds of essays by the end of next year? How good would that feel?

In-built community. Of course, you could just start writing these essays but the real magic is in the community. A bunch of people moving in the same direction as you & ready to cheer you on? Better than writing that blog post in the dark I reckon.

From one previous wannabe to another, come join the ship & finally make your creator dream come true.

If you’d like to come and join us, you can click here to join the January cohort of ship30for30 and let’s write together in 2022.
